| Biography
Over five years ago, I moved with my husband and two children to Canada from my home in England, and undertook a transition which proved to be difficult, emotional and turbulent, but ultimately very rewarding. Choosing to move my life to this beautiful part of the world has proved to be a hugely positive experience for myself and my family.

Thousands of people move here from Europe every year, but very few understand the complexities of buying real estate in Canada.
Not only can I empathise with the new immigrant, but I can guide them through the whole experience, from research and advice, to helping them through the practicalities of moving, even down to booking hotels and car hire - all at no cost to them. I will make the house buying process as simple and as pain-free as possible - because I have been there, and I understand.
Of course, not all of my clients are ex-pats. I have helped, and continue to help, many Canadians too (I am, after all, one myself now!). I believe that real estate is all about people: their needs, their desires, their lives. A good real estate agent is not only someone who knows their area, their market and their business, but someone who knows their client. A good real estate agent is a great listener.
My listening skills come, I think, from my training in London as a journalist many years ago. Yep, that was my last life, believe it or not... but you may wonder why I no longer write for a living. Writing is very much a passion that has consumed my life since I was a little girl. I only ever worked as a freelance, but it is a competitive and difficult business which tends to suck the life out of you after a while.
However, I still love to write and I am in the process of completing a book, entitled The Green, Green Grass of Wherever. This book is based largely on my series which was published in The Province over the course of 2003, 2004 and 2005, entitled Diary of an Immigrant. You can review the book at:
I have also compiled and self-published a cookery book, The Best of British Cookery, which has enjoyed some success here in BC and is still available through the book distributor Meluki Books:
Please call me if you would like to chat about real estate, real life, books, or anything at all. I will prove to you that I am not just a good listener, but I am friendly, helpful and professional.
